PUTRAJAYA: Improving the productivity of smallholders is the main target of Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Peter Chin, who sees their contribution to the economy as significantly high.
Smallholders owned about 40% of oil palm plantations and 100% of pepper plantations, he said, adding that their ownership of rubber and cocoa plantations stood at 80% and 98%, respectively.
