KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court postponed to May 12 the appeal by Tenaganita director Irene Fernandez after the court was informed that over 1,700 documents pertaining to the case were not compiled in the record of appeal.
Judge Datuk Mohamed Apandi Ali set the date so as to give time for the lower court (which decided on the case) to ensure that all the documents pertaining to the hearing of the appeal were updated and made available.
On Oct 16, 2003, Irene was sentenced to a years jail by the magistrates court after she was found guilty of publishing false news on the condition of migrant workers at detention camps.
