KUALA LUMPUR: Some RM30mil worth of tickets were sold on the first day of the Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair, which began on Friday, despite it being a working day.

MAS regional general manager for sales (Malaysia and Asean) Salleh Tabrani said: “We are well on track to meet this year’s sales volume target.”

The achievement on the opening day represents transactions through MAS ticketing offices, Internet bookings (www.malaysiaairlines.com), Golden Holidays and authorised travel agents.

The top five destinations by volume of sales are London, Hong Kong, Macau, Bangkok and Shanghai respectively, he said.

The two wholly-owned MAS subsidiaries also performed well in their maiden presence at the fair.
