PETALING JAYA: The Human Rights Commission (Sukaham) is planning to send an independent committee to investigate the death of Form Three student K. Yashovan who fell from the second floor of a school in Puchong last Tuesday.

Suhakam commissioner Datuk N. Siva Subramaniam said: “This will be brought up at the next committee meeting and if it is approved, we will hold an open enquiry into this as it concerns safety in schools.

“Every parent wants the assurance that their child will be safe while at school.”

Siva Subramaniam will be meeting with Deputy Minister Datuk Noh Omar to explain his views.

Yesterday, he met the family of Yashovan, who was a student of SM Seksyen 1 Bandar Kinrara.
