Senior officers promoted to fill key vacancies in Bukit Aman

KUALA LUMPUR: Several senior police officers have been promoted in a reshuffle to fill key vacancies in Bukit Aman. 

Penang police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Koh Hong Sun is the new Commercial Crimes Investigation Department (CCID) director, while Johor police chief DCP Datuk Husin Ismail will take over as Internal Security and Public Order director. 

Kuala Lumpur police chief DCP Datuk Zul Hasnan Najib Baharuddin has been appointed Narcotics Department director.  

The three have been promoted to the rank of Commissioner. 

Confirming the promotions, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said yesterday that he hoped the officers would serve to the best of their ability. 

Comm Koh takes over from Datuk Ramli Yusuff, who has been suspended pending his corruption trial, while Comm Hussin takes over from Datuk Mustafa Abdullah, who has retired. 

DCP Zul Hasnan replaces Datuk Bakri Zinin, who has been appointed CID director. 

Senior Asst Comm I Datuk Nooryah Mat Anvar has been made Koh’s deputy, while Johor deputy police chief SAC I Datuk Mokhtar Mohd Shariff takes over as the new Johor police chief with the rank of DCP.  

The new Kuala Lumpur police chief is DCP Datuk Muhammad Sabtu Osman, while Sarawak CID chief SAC II Datuk Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah has been made Johor deputy police chief with the rank of SAC I.
