SAPP and LDP quarrel over stalled statue project

KOTA KINABALU: A spat has boiled over between two Chinese-based Sabah Barisan Nasional parties over the stalled construction of a 30m tall Mazu or Goddess of the Sea statue in the northern Kudat district. 

Following various statements about the project by the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) president Datuk V.K. Liew said on Saturday that SAPP had never been supportive of the project.
