RM205,000 raised at charity auction for cancer programme

KUALA LUMPUR: A charity auction at the Rainbow of Life Forces (ROLF) All-Star Charity Dinner raised more than RM205,000 for the Blue Ribbon campaign for childhood cancer victims. 

A book on the life of the first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman, signed by his daughter Tunku Datin Paduka Khadijah, earned the highest bid of RM10,000.

The Prime Minister's wife Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah contributed RM50,000, which was collected from P. Ramlee: The Musical charity show, while AMP Radio Networks donated RM100,000. 

Autographed jerseys of England skipper John Terry and Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs were auctioned off for RM3,888 and RM4,000 respectively. 

The charity auction was held in conjunction with the charity football tournament held over a period of four days. The tournament was to raise funds for children with cancer while increasing awareness about the condition. 

Those who want to donate to the ROLF Blue Ribbon Campaign can do so until Dec 31 at any CIMB branch under the account “CIMB Trustee Bhd for ROLF BRC”.
