MALACCA: A rubber tapper, who pleaded guilty to a rape offence, cried after a Sessions Court sentenced him to six years jail for abducting and raping a 15-year-old girl last month.
Jaafar Md Nor, 44, from Taman Sri Antan, Durian Tunggal, was charged with committing the offence at about 9pm on Sept 2 in a hut inside the rubber plantation in Machap Baru, Alor Gajah. The tapper had earlier mitigated for a lenient sentence, saying he had a wife, two children and elderly parents to support.
