PENANG: A gambling culture is being sowed in the minds of young schoolchildren through tikam-tikam, Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) president S.M. Mohd Idris said.
Tikam-tikam is a form of petty gambling, whereby children pay a small amount of money, usually 20 sen, to draw a number. Each winning number corresponds with a prize, usually a toy or even money.
