LONDON: Malaysia plans to set up an Institute of Tropical Peat to address concerns over the cultivation of oil palm on peat land.
Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Peter Chin said the institute would study issues such as the emission of carbon dioxide during clearing of such land.
