KANGAR: The Lower Syariah Court here yesterday fixed June 13 for the hearing of a woman’s application to end her marriage with a suspected bogus lawyer who gave her a cheque for the amount of RM999,999.99 as hantaran (gift) on their wedding day in February.

The 27-year-old woman filed the notice of demand on Mohammad Mat Atan, 48, on April 12, claiming that she felt cheated after reading newspaper reports about his arrest for impersonating as a lawyer.
