PETALING JAYA: Learner drivers must show they have acquired defensive driving skills before they can qualify for a driving licence under a new curriculum to be introduced by the Road Transport Department.
Malaysia Institute for Road Safety Research (Miros) director-general Prof Radin Umar Radin Sohadi said the introduction of the new curriculum at the end of the year, together with other safety measures, would reduce accident rates by as much as 50% within five to 10 years.
