MALAYSIA and Thailand have agreed to work together to develop the southern Thailand regions along the border, said Foreign Ministry parliamentary secretary Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek.

“To achieve this, we are helping Thailand via the Malaysia-Thailand Committee on Joint Development Strategy and the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle,” he said in reply to Datuk Baharum Mohamed (BN – Sekijang).

“Among the important projects is the building of a bridge between Bukit Bunga in Jeli, Kelantan, and Buketa in Waeng, Narathiwat, which is expected to be completed this September,” he added.
