MALACCA: A company director, who was charged with tearing down three heritage buildings in Jonker Walk four years ago, has been cleared of all charges.
Yap Boon La, 35, of Hua Tong Realty Sdn Bhd, was acquitted by a magistrate’s court here yesterday of two charges of tearing down the buildings without approval from the Malacca Municipal Council on July 29 and Dec 16, 2002, under Section 19(1) of Town and Country Planning Act.
