Pump-gun taken from dead guard recovered

KLANG: Police have recovered a pump-gun belonging to one of the two goldsmith security guards who were shot dead during a jewellery shop heist at a hypermarket in Bukit Tinggi here on Tuesday night. 

Klang district police chief Asst Comm Mohd Rodwan Mohd Yusof said the pump-gun was found together with a pistol , several bullets and two Molotov cocktails in a Proton Iswara, which was found abandoned at Gambus 4, Taman Desawan, 2km from the crime scene. 

He said police patrolling the area spotted the grey car parked in an empty parking lot. 

“We believe the car was used by the robbers ,” he said at the Klang district police headquarter here yesterday. 

On Tuesday, six robbers stormed into the Poh Kong jewellery shop in Tesco at about 9.30pm, shot dead two security guards and escaped with RM1mil worth of valuables. 

The guards, Abdul Shukor Salleh, 30, from Pasir Mas, Kelantan, and Sharaidi Mat Salleh, 33, from Jeram, Selangor, were killed on the spot. A customer and a shop assistant were also injured in the incident.
