PUTRAJAYA: A new cancer scanning machine, to begin operations by the end of this month at the Putrajaya Hospital, is poised to make the institute the countrys premier referral centre for the disease.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said the new PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scan could be used to monitor the progress of any treatment the patient received as well as detect if cancer cells had spread.
