PUTRAJAYA: A Federal Court judge who had a financial interest in an appeal she was hearing, should have excused herself from the proceedings, the Federal Court heard.
Darshan Singh Khaira, representing lawyer Datuk V. Muthusamy, said that in the appeal of former NST reporter Joceline Tan Poh Choo, its editor and publisher against his client, Chief Judge of Malaya Justice Siti Norma Yaakob, one of the three judges in the quorum, declared that she held shares of the New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, the third appellant.
