Goodies for the poor in Tanjung Piai

PONTIAN: Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting broke fast with some 100 poor Malay families in Pekan Nenas here. 

Several Indian families and the disabled also attended the function. 

Ong, who is Tanjung Piai MP, presented RM150 to every family  

on behalf of the National Welfare Foundation, and a piece of cloth from Bakti.  

He later presented foodstuff to  

120 mosques and suraus in Tanjung Piai. 

“This is something that I do every year. It is a sign of respect for those who have been fasting,” he said. 

Also present were Pekan Nenas Assemblyman Wee Jeck Seng and Tanjung Piai Umno chief Datuk Md Othman Yusof.
