SUNGAI PETANI: Daud Mohamad, 51, is doing brisk business with his famous gulai batang pisang (banana trunk curry) at the Ramadan bazaar in Taman Sejati. He has been travelling 120km from Kupang in Baling to sell his dish for the past three years.
The curry is so named because he uses stalks from the abundant banana trees that grow wild in the Baling jungles.
