PETALING JAYA: The Emergency (Public Order and Crime Prevention) Ordinance, which was announced in 1969 as a temporary government measure following the May 13 riots, is still in force.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz said the Government was not planning to repeal it as the country's security must be maintained.
