NEW YORK: The words were plain and simple: World Trade Centre, 1973-2001. But this obituary of sorts is poignant still, especially since it is found above the famed Empire State Building here, which was the tallest skyscraper in the city before WTC came about.
Visitors to the 86th floor of the Empire State Building will see a plaque, which details some of the significant structures built in the world such as the Pyramid of Cheops, the Eiffel Tower and the Petronas Twin Towers.
