KUALA LUMPUR: Thousands of people who wanted to invest in the one billion Amanah Saham Wawasan (ASW) 2020 shares issued by Permodalan Nasional Bhd yesterday were disappointed, with many banks reportedly not selling even a single share to those who had queued up for hours.

Cameron Highlands MP M. Devamany, who went to a bank in Ipoh personally to see how things were going yesterday, was shocked when officers told him that the shares meant for non-bumiputras had been snapped up even before the banks could source them.
