JOHOR BARU: Police have busted a syndicate believed to be the first ever involved in counterfeiting local and Singaporean coins and seized more than 170,000 fake Singapore $1 coins and an array of counterfeiting paraphernalia, including chemicals, moulds and four coin-making machines.
In the raids, which began on Aug 9, seven gang members, including a woman, were detained in Kulai and Pontian.
