Miri school closed because of HFM disease

KUCHING: A kindergarten in Miri was ordered to close for two weeks because of hand, foot and mouth disease. 

Tadika Perpaduan in Tudan was served with the closure order on Friday, becoming the seventh kindergarten to be shut in the last two months. 

A primary school in Padawan here was also closed for two weeks last month. 

The number of HFMD cases in the state has now reached 13,145. 

Miri division reported the highest number of new cases on Saturday with 10, followed by Kuching with nine and Sibu with eight. 

Seven children were admitted to hospital in Miri, Mukah and Sibu, bringing to 19 the number of HFMD patients currently warded. 

None was reported to be critically ill.
