THE Works Ministry’s tender board had originally proposed that Ireka Construction Bhd carry out the Matrade building project, but on Sept 8, 1993, the Finance Ministry directed Perangsang International Sdn Bhd (PISB) to undertake the project through negotiated tender.
Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu told Salahuddin Ayub (PAS – Kubang Kerian) that the Finance Ministry approved a sum of RM167mil for the project on Dec 18 the same year.
