KOTA BARU: The state government has welcomed the decision of Kota Baru MP Datuk Zaid Ibrahim to withdraw his suit against it over the controversial hudud law under the Syariah Criminal Procedures Code 993.
Zaid filed a petition in 2002, which was heard in the Federal Court, to challenge the PAS-led state government’s proposed hudud law system, saying it was contrary to the Federal Constitution.
