MAS AWARDED: Malaysia Airlines has won the Reader’s Digest “Trusted Brand Platinum Award 2006” for the Airline Category, for four consecutive years since 2003. The award was presented by Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Ng Lip Yong to MAS commercial director Datuk Abdul Rashid Khan at a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. – Bernama 

GAS LEAK: The Petronas station in Putrajaya had to be shut down for almost four hours after one of its pipes leaked and released gas. Residents in Precinct 11 called the police at 8.35pm after smelling petrol in the air. Fire and Rescue Department personnel found that the smell came from a minor leak in one of the pipes which released petrol into a monsoon drain. Petronas engineers fixed the leak by 11.45pm.
