ILLEGAL FACTORIES: The Shah Alam City Council in Selangor has identified 565 illegal factories operating in areas under its jurisdiction. Mayor Datuk Ramlan Othman said the factories were discovered through a survey carried out from Feb 21 to April 24. Following the survey, 13 factory owners were issued notices requiring them to apply for temporary licences to operate, he added. – Bernama
MENTALLY-ILL YOUTH DIES: A 19-year-old mentally-ill youth fell to his death while using a fire hose to climb down a 16-storey flat in Larkin, Johor, on Saturday. Police said the teenager was trying to imitate army commando tactics in the 3am incident.
