Selangor to build sedimentation ponds to reduce river pollution

KLANG: Sedimentation ponds will be built as an immediate step to lower the levels of pollutants flowing into Sungai Selangor. 

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo said the ponds would be built on the Drainage and Irrigation Department's river reserves, and water from streams and monsoon drains would be channelled into them and released only after eight hours.
