KUALA LUMPUR: Banned cattle offal, which could pose a health risk, is being smuggled into Malaysia to meet the high demand.
Syndicates had in the last six months smuggled in parts like lung, spleen, liver, tripe, tail, stomach, and tongue after 40 abattoirs in Australia and New Zealand had their accreditation revoked by Malaysian authorities for failing to meet the requirements for supplying halal meat.
