PETALING JAYA: The impending water tariff increase for consumers in Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur is unpleasant news for users in these areas, said the Coalition Against Water Privatisation.
The group was commenting on a StarBiz report on Syabas’ concession agreement, which stated it was entitled to a 15% increase in tariff on Jan 1 this year, from an average RM1.21 per cubic metre to RM1.39, if the company was able to manage its distribution cost and reduce non-revenue water.
