KUALA LUMPUR: Putting the gazetting of the Islamic Family Law (Federal Territories) (Amendment) Act 2005 on hold will allow the authorities and non-governmental organisations to present their views on the matter.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said any resolution made on the issue should not go against Islamic principles and should protect the rights of women.
