LABIS: The ammonia fumes which forced 300 villagers near here to flee their homes could have been caused by aluminium dross reaction to rainwater, the state Fire and Rescue Department said.
Acting state operations assistant director Abdul Hamid S. Abdullah said the reaction was still occurring and bubbles could be seen at the surface of a pool of water at the site where the chemical had been illegally dumped.
