KUALA LUMPUR: Negative media reports on several incidents involving Chinese nationals contributed to the drop in tourist arrivals from that country, Tourism Minister Datuk Dr Leo Michael Toyad said.
Reports on snatch thefts, poor treatment of Chinese tourists in Genting Highlands, the murder of a Chinese student here and violence within the Asian region were contributing factors, he said in a written reply to Senator Datuk Dr Chin Fook Weng at the Dewan Negara yesterday.
