KUALA LUMPUR: Asian countries fighting the avian influenza outbreak that has killed 64 people in the past two years will receive US$135mil (RM509.7mil) in funding from Japan to heighten their readiness against the disease.
The aid was pledged by Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi at the Asean + 3 meeting here yesterday.
