Khir: Developed status should spur others on

KLANG: The big push forward that helped Selangor attain developed status was also intended to spur other states on, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo said.  

“We used it as a goal to improve our social and economic standing. We also wanted to be the impetus for other states to aim higher to help meet national objectives,'' he said when taking his oath of allegiance to Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, in conjunction with the ruler’s 60th birthday celebrations, at Istana Alam Shah here yesterday.
