PENGKALAN PASIR: Azlina Azma Mohd Azmi came here from Pahang to experience the atmosphere of a by-election.

But the 26-year-old Puteri Umno member from Rompin, along with a vanload of other women from the movement, found themselves surrounded by hundreds of PAS supporters.

“It was the most terrifying moment in my life,” she said later.

The van carrying the 10 Puteri Umno members was stopped at Kumbang Bemban at about 1.40am yesterday.

“They snatched the key to our van and demanded that we admit we were phantom voters,” she said, adding that all the Puteri members kept quiet.

“They then ordered us to get out of the van and again told us to admit we were phantom voters.

“I told them we had come here to give support to the Barisan Nasional and to see the by-election. They refused to believe us,” said Azlina, adding that the PAS supporters kept questioning them and tried to force them to return to Rompin.

She said Federal Reserve Unit officers came about an hour later to disperse the crowd.
