Local dock fenders shunned

KLANG: Malaysian ports are buying dock fenders from other countries even though they are available locally. 

Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui said he did not know why Malaysian ports were not interested in locally-made dock fenders, which were of superior quality. (These are rubber slabs attached to the dock to cushion the impact should vessels slam against the dock.)
