SUNGAI PETANI: The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) should push for the setting-up of the Malaysian Media Council (MMC), which could be a regulatory body of the media, Deputy Information Minister Datuk Zainuddin Maidin said.
The proposal for the setting-up of the MMC was mooted in the 1960s by a group of editors including himself to look after the interests of media practitioners, he said.
