KUALA LUMPUR: Some classes in schools have been without teachers for days because an average of between five and 10 teachers are away attending other activities, says the National Union of the Teaching Profession (NUTP).

The union's secretary-general Lok Yim Pheng said many of the teachers were attending meetings, courses, briefings and other events this month, and this had affected lessons.
