KOTA KINABALU: Dr Ti Teow Chuan, the Malaysian who was among the 149 people killed in the Mandala Airlines 737-200 crash in Medan, was a pioneer in the development of Sabah's economy.
Dr Ti, 64, was involved in drawing up blueprints for the development of Sabah’s palm oil industry clusters and tourism programmes during his tenure with the state-owned think tank, the Institute for Development Studies (IDS).
