Charged over fuel sale

MIRI: An Indonesian captain, Indonesian chief engineer and Filipino chief of security of an ocean-going cargo vessel have been charged in the magistrate’s court here with committing criminal breach of trust by selling diesel illegally in waters off the shore of Sarawak. 

Five other crew members – Yulianas Manto, 24, Taufik Salim, 54, Muhamad Arwin, 39, Bunyamin, 34, and Najamin Din, 27, who are all Indonesians working as manual labourers – were jailed two years and three months each after they pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiring to illegally selling the 250 metric tonnes of fuel.
