PETALING JAYA: Heavy rain and thunderstorms yesterday helped put out several fires in Pahang, but firemen are still battling the blaze that has engulfed 136ha of land in Selangor.
Fire and Rescue Department assistant director-general (operations) Zulkarnain Mohd Kassim said the fires in Sungai Besar, Sekinchan in Selangor were harder to fight as the water source was far away from the burning site.
