KUALA LUMPUR: Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu told highway concessionaires yesterday to take measures to ensure the safety of motorists using the highways.
He said visibility levels in several stretches of the highways were reported as unsatisfactory amid the worsening haze.
“I have asked the concessionaires to inform users on the haze condition at the highways via notice boards, electronic signboards, radio and SMS,” he said from New Delhi, where he was on an official visit.
He also advised motorists to switch on their headlights when driving in hazy conditions.
