MEDIA Prima Bhd, owner of TV3, is negotiating to buy over its competitor NatSeven TV Sdn Bhd which operates ntv7, Kosmo! reported.
Media Prima will hold talks with shareholders of the companies (NatSeven and two companies associated with it), Media Prima said in a statement to Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday.
The two companies linked to NatSeven TV are Synchrosound Studio Sdn Bhd and Questseven Dot Com Sdn Bhd.
NatSeven TV is the owner and operator of ntv7. Synchrosound Studios is the licensee and Questseven Dot Com the operator of radio station WowFM.
Media Prima named former Agriculture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mohamed Effendi Norwawi, Encorp Services Sdn Bhd and Awansia Corpora-tion Sdn Bhd as the shareholders involved.
Under the agreement, Media Prima will have moderate access to the premises, resources and facilities in ntv7, said Effendi.
Berita Harian quoted former Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Suleiman Mohamed as saying that his signature on a ministrys guarantee letter had been forged and used by a local pharmaceutical company to buy foreign debt notes.
Dr Suleiman told a Sessions court on Wednesday that when the police asked him to identify the guarantee letter, his name was printed on it but the signature was not his.
He was the fourth witness to testify against Dr Hamimah Idruss, who is facing 18 charges including money laundering involving RM41.33mil, allegedly through illegal foreign activities.
