Slow action against cults questioned

MPS expressed concern over the slow action by the religious authorities in acting against cults, which were fast spreading, and their followers now numbered in the thousands. 

“Why don’t the authorities act against these groups at an early stage? Why wait until the flame has become an inferno,” Dr Mohd Hayati Othman (BN – Pendang) asked Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Abdullah Md Zin during the winding up of the Syariah Court Evidence (Federal Territorries) (Amendment) Bill.
