Eight rivers in Selangor dead

EIGHT of the 26 rivers in Selangor are “dead” due to pollution, and cannot be used as a source for drinking water, said sewage management company Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd. 

Its executive chairman Tan Sri Rozali Ismail was quoted in Utusan Malaysia as saying that pollution in the rivers had caused the supply of clean raw water to drop, but demand continued to rise.
