KUANTAN: A trailer laden with aluminium cord worth RM230,000 was hijacked by five men yesterday.

State CID chief acting ACP T. Narenasagaran said the 48-year-old driver was walking towards the trailer at 12.05am after a meal at a restaurant in Karak Setia when he was confronted by the hijackers.

One of them held a parang to his throat and forced him into the trailer, where they tied his hands behind his back and pulled up his shirt over his head.

The hijackers then drove the trailer towards Kuala Lumpur. The trailer had earlier left Shah Alam for Kuantan Port.

“The driver was later pushed out of the trailer along the highway near Rawang,” said ACP Narenasagaran yesterday.

Police are looking for the hijacked trailer bearing the registration number WGD 9627.
