Man hacked then burnt to death by attackers

KUALA LUMPUR: A man was hacked to death before being set on fire by his attackers in Brickfields. 

Police found the charred remains at the basement of Flat Malar, behind the Seri Kota supermarket, after being informed by residents at 1.15pm yesterday. 

Brickfields Deputy OCPD Supt Arjunaidi Mohamed said residents saw smoke coming from the basement where they found the body. 

“Investigations revealed that the man, believed to be in his 20s, was hacked before being burned. 

Police recovered a meat cleaver and a piece of bloodstained cardboard nearby but have not been able to ascertain the victim’s details as yet. 

In Petaling Jaya, six people were arrested after they were found taking drugs at a secondary school in Damansara Jaya here yesterday. 

OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Hazam Abdul Halim said a school security guard caught them smoking ganja in a classroom at 1.45am. 

He said 29gm of ganja and ketamine were recovered from the suspects, aged between 21 and 26.
