Top marine cop heads promotion list

PETALING JAYA: Bukit Aman marine commander Senior Asst Comm I Abdul Rahman Ahmad tops the list of a nationwide transfer and promotion exercise involving some 20 senior cops announced yesterday. 

He remains at his present post but his promotion indicates that Bukit Aman had upgraded the rank of the marine commander from Senior Asst Comm II.  

Deputy marine commander Asst Comm Jemaat Omar was promoted to the rank of Senior Asst Comm II. 

SAC II Datuk Ghazali Md Amin who was previously attached to the Bukit Aman management department assumes the post of Perlis police chief with the rank of SAC I. 

Pahang management department chief Asst Comm Mohd Noh Kandah was promoted to the post of Penang deputy police chief with the rank of SAC II.  

Police secretary ACP Zainal Abidin Mohd Rawi was moved to the Inspector-General’s chief secretariat (administrative) with the rank of SAC II. 

Kelantan CID chief ACP Ishak Abd Majid is now Bukit Aman CID chief assistant director with the rank of SAC II. 

ACP Abdul Halim Siraj, who was previously Bukit Aman logistics department (weaponry) chief assistant director, was promoted to Bukit Aman internal security and public order deputy director II with the rank of SAC II. 

Double masters holder in forensic science and law Supt T. Narenasagaran, previously from the forensic science teaching unit at the Police Training College in Cheras, is now Pahang CID chief with the rank of ACP. 

Ampang Jaya deputy OCPD Supt O.K. Jalil Othman was made an ACP and will assume the post of deputy federal traffic chief. 

Penang deputy marine commander Supt The Heng Thong takes over the post of Bukit Aman marine deputy commander (development, finance and project) with the rank of ACP.
